WOAH!!!! Our DJ'S were out of this world. They provided the most insane mixes I ever had the pleasure of experiencing. They made it a privilege to rave!! Thanks! We were really disappointed it got cut. We had another 2 hours of stuff planned, including a lot of the requests that we could not get to.... Check our myspace pages here and here. I will be posting the live mix from my side there and on my Facebook page.

I'm sorry it got cut short. The explanation I got was that one of the security guys decided that since it didn't go past 1:00 on the schedule that it wasn't supposed to go past 1:00. I corrected him on it afterward, but it was too late. I apologize.
I also heard that since it was late and during the time change, people got tired and went to sleep.
I think we may try to start it earlier next year and cut some of our emcee banter from the masquerade so that you can have a longer show.

I think we may try to start it earlier next year and cut some of our emcee banter from the masquerade so that you can have a longer show. A couple of points: the security guy was, shall we say, set in his thoughts about the time. I told him a couple of times that it was 3am but he refused to go check with anyone. Rather then argue with him any longer, we ended. Also, he kept claiming it was because the hotel said it was 1am, something I was not aware of. So, rather then anger the hotel, we decided not to argue with him. As for the crowd, it had thinned out at the time, but there were a good 30-40 people. We also met several groups in the hall that were taking a breather (because of the heat and lack of water; the lone water jug had been out for an hour). So there may have been some who left because of the time change, but there were still those wanting to stay and dance. They were all disappointed as well.

I'll just put it on the schedule next year so there isn't a question. I'm horribly sorry about that. I was disappointed because I wanted to hear it but was running karaoke from 11-1.

Well, you guys can't prepare for everything. It still say whole-heartedly that it was the best rave I've ever been too, and I've done my fair share. Anyone on the floor can tell you that (gosh, that was so modest)
As far as "MC Banter" that was the best part of the Masquerade! I felt the skits and presentation of the cosplays were quite lacking in, well...I expected a bit more from the participants. Ouran High School Host Club's presentation skit was the only one that seemed well rehearsed and yet they repeated a lot of dialogue. (I can sense that I'll be flamed for this, as I should be)
last thing I'm gonna say, fear not supergeekgirl the snake/boss banter lifted my spirits and was the reason I stayed for the whole masquerade. The audience needed a serious attitude adjustment when it comes to etiquette. All the jeering of "boooo" and "FAIL" honestly was embarrassing
I do hope you and mikhail will strongly consider continuing your awesome work as management, but if not, best wishes to you both in your other endeavours

I would have to agree with douglas, I enjoyed the emcee banter. But I also had to drive home so I couldn't stay for the whole rave anyway. After a whole day at con my stamina is too lousy for me to hang in the whole time. However from what I did see it looked like people were having fun. So I guess what I'm trying to say is I liked the emcee banter but I'm the opinion of someone who's not 100% committed to the rave and can't party with y'all till 3:00am anyway.
And thank you for the compliment about our skit douglas (( I was the Tamaki from the Ouran group )) with a group the size of ours we really don't have the option of not practicing and I'm glad that the work we put into creating the skit was evident. I already heard your 'repetitive' comment on Sunday; I guess that means our new cosplays on Sunday were good because we were standing right behind you when you were talking to another group of people about it XD

This ought to be moving over to the masquerade page, but it pertains to the current conversation.
I didn't hear any of the jeering, but if I had, I'd have put a stop to it. Well, I mean, I did hear some jeering at Snake during the emcee parts of the show, but I didn't hear it at the contestants.
And I did hear some people yell "FAIL" when I stepped on the power.
When did people do this that you heard? I'd like to put a stop to it. That sort of behavior is rude to the cosplayers.

Excellent job striker. I assume you did not have audio and hence why you dubbed over the track? Not as bangin' as our stuff but not bad either

Excellent job striker. I assume you did not have audio and hence why you dubbed over the track? Not as bangin' as our stuff but not bad either thanks. ;D.I had audio but with the loud beats and such and being close to the audio system it got garbled out. So i went online and got this song and had the beats somewhat match up with L's stage performance towards the end of the vid. I'm really pleased in how it turned out with the mix of pictures and video footage.
