I've recently discovered a love for amateur voice acting/producing (mainly producing) and have become very active in working on projects and helping out with others. I'm currently producing two voice acting projects with plans to fandub the new anime "Kobato" and have been writing script and mixing audio. The first episode of my first production has already been released~ n_n
I would really, really love to host a panel on something related to this, be it a panel on "how to be an amateur voice actor" or "how to create your own production" or "how to write a script for a fandub." I would even be happy to help host/organize an "Anime voice actor idol" or something of the sort.
Let me know what you think of this! n_n'

Actually, sounds pretty cool. I think more panels on CREATING and DOING things are great. People want to learn what they can do with their fandom, so panels on dance, art, writing, voice-acting, etc. are perfect.
I've seen a voice-actor idol done at another convention (actually, at three, I believe). Unfortunately, it didn't work very well because instead of giving scripts to be read, they just expected people to improv it. If you wanted to run something like this, you'd want to provide scripts but find another way to make it fun. The problem with improv is that most people suck at it, but a lot of them don't know it.

I actually have a friend who is voice-acting on an anime currently in production. I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head. But she might be interested in helping you out with such a panel on voice-acting.

Awesome! Well, I would DEFINITELY love to do this, and help from your friend would be much appreciated and loved! n_n If I did any sort of "anime idol" I would definitely make sure there's script and clips for the people to go with... I think if I did that, it may have to be separate from a panel.. maybe a panel on friday, and the competition on Saturday..
Well, if the con superiors approve of this, please let me know~ I'd love to start planning n_n

Anything that's not in bad taste (i.e. racist or insulting) is automatically accepted if it's sent in on time. The only chances of not getting things accepted are turning your form in really late (so send in a panelist form ASAP) or having too many time constraints (sometimes people leave maybe a two hour or so block that they want us to schedule their panel in, which can be quite hard if they aren't the first people to send in a form).
We'd love to see what you've got for us!

Alrighty. I'll talk to some people and start brainstorming what I think I'll do. If I _were_ to hold the panel and THEN a separate event like Voice Actor Idol, how would I go about signing up to hold the event? XD; of course when I think about that, there's a lot of equipment I'll probably need that I don't have..

I've done lots of stage acting and made some videos, but I'd love to try voice acting and the production of it. I vote "totally yes"

At the moment I'm thinking of a "basics of amateur voice acting" combined kind of with "creating your own fandub/radio play." I may make it into two separate panels, one about amateur VAing and one about Producing, but I'm not sure there would be enough interest, so I'll probably combine it. ^^'

I'm a fandub producer, and I would LOVE to help out with the panels. I even made a little documentary about amateur voice acting.

And, where is your documentary? It's on my harddrive! =P I made it for my upper-level video class. I do have permission from the AVA that I interviewed, however, to release it to the public.

I would love to see this put into motion. I've always wanted to be a voice actor, and tips on where to start out and things like that would be really great. For instance, coming up with an example tape of recordings. And what people look for when listening to try-outs. Or even material one could use to practice with and record would be FANTASTIC!

Nobody sent in the panel form before we ran out of panel spaces. Our VA guest is doing something similar, though.
