i heard of at least 5 panels that got cancelled, or that weren't at the time they said they were at. a better panel schedule would have been nice as well

I'm not so sure any panels got cancelled. At least I didn't hear of any. I do know that if no one shows up to a panel the panelist leaves within 15 minutes or so and if anyone wanders into the panel room in the middle of it's scheduling and sees no one inside they think it just never happened. It happens a lot at most cons.

Only one panel got canceled, and we replaced it a couple of days before the con. Don't know what you mean by "a better panel schedule". Please be specific.

it just seems like all the good stuff was stacked right on top of each other, (at the same time)

We tried to keep variety in what was going on at the same time. We didn't want to have two video game panels at the same time for example (although we did at one point during the masquerade have one about video game consoles and the Zelda movie because the panelists requested that time specifically). The nature of a convention is that you can't go to everything you want to attend because something will inevitably be at the same time as something else. My hope for the future is that we can have more panel rooms so that we can run more panels during masquerade time. That's the biggest slow point because it takes so many rooms to run it (green room, photo/judging room, and both main events rooms).
We did try to stagger the times so that people could go to at least the last half-hour of things that overlapped.

The DJ Production Panel was canceled and replaced by Anime Mythbusters. Kelly almost canceled the anime roast because she was so tired, but in the end, she did it from what I heard. Got a second wind or something.

To be honest, I wasn't paying that close attention to what she told me.

I do agree with the "overlapped" issue. I only had seven people show up for the YAOI panel because the Quinton Flynn panel, Rave, Rocky Horror, and another big panel/event were all scheduled at the SAME TIME! It made me all sorts of sad ;_;

Only seven people at a yaoi panel?! Well, there were a lot of people at the convention, and overlapping happens. If we didn't have two good things overlapping, people would complain that there's nothing to do.

And thus unfortunatly people always have SOMETHING to complain about.... I think Kawa Kon has a really good variety of panels and also panels depend on what people want to do and sign up to do. And there's always the people who say "I (insert reason why) here" did not get the information... Valid reason or not its not the panelists/staffs fault. They do what they can and work hard to make a good con

No, I cancalled it because Mr Quinn was over lapping his panel before me BY FAR, and everyone seemed to want him to stay so I let him have it.
