To start off, I loved this year. Kawa Kon has been great all three years I've attended. Only went today (Saturday), but it's a brilliant experience.
I was a little upset by one thing, and that was registration. It was the first time I cosplayed at Kawa Kon, and by the registration page on the web site I understood that you could apply for the cosplay discount when you register, no matter if you pre-registered or did at-the-door, or did a weekend pass, or just one day.
"Cosplayers receive a $5 discount on the price when they register. To get the discount, you must cosplay when you pick up your badge at registration. If you pre-register with the cosplay discount, you will have to pay the extra $5 at the door unless you pick up your badge in costume." (~taken from the registration page on the site)
So when I registered today, I apparently couldn't apply for the cosplay discount. :/ I didn't come in-costume, because it was a fursuit, but I had proof that I had one, by bringing in the gloves/hands/paws... whatever you wanna call 'em.
Maybe make the site a little more specific there? Or maybe my mind's just messing with me and I interpreted it completely wrong. Oh well, just putting my two cents in.
This year was fantastic, even though I didn't expect to pay five more bucks. : D
Long post is long.

Well the reason why that happened is because ANYONE could easily say "Hey, let me borrow your kitty ears and gloves so I can get free $5 off my badge!!! I'll bring it right back in one minute!!"
That's why we make people wear the whole cosplay at registration.

I see. -nodnod- I didn't want to fumble for my wallet (which I did anyway..) to pay while wearing the suit so, oh well. xD
I'd still recommend fixing the site to specify that you have to wear the full costume, not just bring "proof."

I figured that "you must cosplay" meant that you had to be in the costume to everyone, but if putting "you must be in your costume" will help, I'll put that. Yes, you have to wear a costume of some sort when you pick up your badge if you got the cosplay discount when you registered.

I'm going to second this complaint. I also only attended Saturday but was in full costume at registration. (I was the Bulma in the yellow dress) I was fully expecting to get the discount because there was no mention of it being only for full weekend passes. Not that $5 is a big deal, but it was a bit embarrassing to have to ask for help in coming up with the extra money since I only had a twenty on me at the time. If you're going to have this policy please make it clear. A sign or something before the line or puting a (Weendend Only) next to the "Cosplay Discount" option on those reg. forms you had should be good.

I thought it was pretty clear you had to be wearing your costume to receive the discount but I always pre-register so I don't have problems.
